Diskard Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
Diskard is a browser extension I built that blacks out content you’ve told it you don’t want to see.
What Diskard collects
Nothing. Diskard does not collect, transmit, sell or share any data. It has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no tracking. It contains no code that sends anything over the internet.
What Diskard stores, and where
Your block list (the words and phrases you enter) is saved in your browser’s own extension storage. If you have browser sync turned on, your browser may sync the list to your other devices signed in to the same browser account. That sync is handled by your browser provider (for example, Google for Chrome) under their privacy policy. I never see it.
Simple counts and settings, such as how many items were blacked out and whether Diskard is paused on a site, are stored only on your device.
What Diskard reads
To do its job, Diskard reads the text of the web pages you visit, in your browser, and compares it to your block list. This happens entirely on your device. Page content is never stored, logged or sent anywhere.
Permissions
Access to the websites you visit: needed so Diskard can find and black out matching content on any page.
Storage: needed to save your block list and settings.
Children
Diskard is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, I will update this page and the date above.
